On Saturday April 14th , our DSM Students are invited to participate in the Dayspring Diamond Mission Day. This is a mission event, which will allow our students to work with small teams and adults throughout this day providing care for homes and establishments across the Dayspring Diamond area. The Dayspring Diamond area encompasses South Tyler, Whitehouse, Bullard, Flint, and Gresham. Some of the responsibilities for this day include minor home repairs, landscaping and yard work, painting projects, work at a food pantry, and other projects that can be accomplished in a single day by a group of student workers. It’s Dayspring’s opportunity to give back to the community in which we serve. It is our hope that we put some smiles on the faces of those we are serving, sharing the love of Christ with our neighbors in the community, and making a small difference in the lives of those who lack the capacity or resources to do these jobs themselves. This service project will last from 8am to 5pm. Students will be assigned groups and adult leaders and work most of the day. Many of these projects will help teach them how to do mission related work extremely similar to what they will be doing on a larger scale with our I-Serve and UM Army trips. It’s a great opportunity to learn and connect with students of all age groups at DSM. It is our hope that all of our students consider this opportunity to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ on this day. Any school required community service hours can certainly be signed off on for this event. To register please follow the link below.
