What to Expect

First experience with Dayspring?

Looking for a church to call ‘home’ can be difficult! We’ve tried to anticipate some of the questions you might have, but if you’re still wondering about something, don’t hesitate to ask us by using the form below!

What time are worship services?

Temporary (COVID) times:

Tyler Campus: 9AM – Indoors, outdoors and online at dayspringumc.tv
Flint Campus: 5:55PM – Tuesday evening (The Well) prayer and communion service

Where is each campus located?

Dayspring Tyler (directions)
310 West Cumberland Drive
Tyler, Texas 75703

Dayspring Flint (directions)
10896 County Rd 169
Flint, TX 75762

Phone: 903.581.0550

Is there handicap accessibility?

Handicap parking is available at both campuses. Sidewalks lead directly from reserved parking to ADA entrances. Each facility is all on one floor, so once you’re inside, everything is easily accessible.

What should I wear?

You’ll see shorts and flip flops, hats, jeans and button downs, slacks and dresses, and some suits. It’s important for us that you feel comfortable. We never want attire to be a hindrance to your involvement. We care about you, not your clothes.

What about my kids/students?

We want you and your children to have a meaningful worship experience, whichever campus you attend. At both campuses, we have a staffed nursery for ages 6 weeks- 2 years. As children grow, Dayspring Kids (3yrs-5th grade) provides a fun, challenging time of worship and small group activities designed to teach children about God’s love, through Jesus Christ. The Dayspring Student Ministry meets regularly at 5:30pm Sunday evenings at the Tyler campus. On Sunday mornings, we feel that it is important for our students to worship with their families.

Will I be asked to stand and be recognized as a guest?

Definitely not! But we would love to get to know you better! Our ‘Engage Cards’ in the seat-back pockets in each sanctuary will help with that – you can fill one out and put it in the offering basket as it passes by during worship. Don’t forget to grab our first-time visitors gift on your way out!

Am I expected to give money during the offering?

Toward the end of the service, volunteer ushers will collect an offering. This offering helps support the ministry of Dayspring. If you are a guest, you should not feel obligated to give, though of course you are welcome to participate. The offering time is for members and those who consider Dayspring their church home.

Are your worship services traditional or contemporary?

Yes. Just like our communities, we want worship services to include the best of the ‘old’ and the best of the ‘new.’ Our music is upbeat and modern, we use video in worship, serve coffee and donuts, and dress casually. At the same time, we draw from the ancient traditions of our faith by incorporating some of the beautiful old hymns, prayers, and creeds in our times of worship.

How long are worship services?

Worship services typically last about one hour.
