Last Words

1.    “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

2.    “This day you will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)

3.    “Woman, behold your son.” (John 19:26-27)

4.    “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34; Matthew 27:46)

5.    “I thirst.” (John 19:28)

6.    “It is finished.” (John 19:30)

7.    “Into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46)

Questions to ponder:

· What do you think was the main point of Matt’s sermon?

· Why do you think that Jesus’ last words are so important?

· Which “last word” resonates with you the most? Why?

· How does knowing this affect your relationship with God?

1.    What does this say about God?

2.    What does this say about me?

3.    What does this say about how God wants me to be?

Do something about it:

If you knew of the date of your departure from this earth, what would your last word be and to whom would you share them?  Now consider, if they are that important that you would use your last breaths to share them, why wouldn’t you share the now?
