Mike currently serves Dayspring part-time as the Pastor of Congregational Care. He grew up in Texas Hill Country where after graduating from Round Rock High-school he enlisted in the Armed Forces. After serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment and the 82nd Airborne Division, he completed his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and earned an MBA from Texas A&M University at Commerce. In College-Station, Mike met the love of his life, Karen where they were married in 1999. They then moved to Tyler in 2002 where he began his career in healthcare.
Mike currently works as a healthcare specialist where he enjoys the opportunities to travel, meet new people, and serve the healthcare needs of his community. Karen and Mike have 3 boys – Matt, Ben, and Zach and they enjoy spending their time together fishing, hiking, and swimming at Caddo Lake. Mike and Karen joined Dayspring in January of 2012 where over the next few years Mike became active in youth ministry, assisted-living ministry, and men’s ministry.
After becoming a Lay Minister in 2017, Mike felt called serve the church through pastoral ministry. In 2018, Mike was appointed as the Pastor of Congregational care and is currently studying theology through the Course of Study program at Perkins School of Theology. Mike is passionate about connecting with the people he meets in everyday life through Marketplace Ministry, Homeless Ministry, and Christian Apologetics. He believes in loving others through service and always having a reason for sharing the faith that lives within us.
